About Tom Ammons

Thomas C. Ammons, CPS/PFS

Relationships of trust depend on our willingness to look not only at our own interests, but also the interests of others.

Committed to building long-term relationships with clients, Affinity Advantage President Thomas C. Ammons, CPA/PFS, CLTC considers his number one priority to be helping individuals, pre-retirees, active seniors, businesses, and families obtain medicare.

Drawing on his objectivity, knowledge, experience, and drive to assist clients, he works tirelessly to build and foster their financial objectives.

As a graduate of Pace University's Financial Management program, Tom built his accounting and auditing foundation at Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC). He became one of the youngest Audit Supervisors at PWC, managing complex audits for major corporations in the financial services industry.

As the CFO of Murjani International, Ltd., Tom made his transition from public to private accounting, where he honed his skills as a financial professional and provided personal financial services to the company's executives. In order to focus more on employee benefits and financial planning Tom moved on to become Executive Vice President of Evergreen Group Benefits, where he specialized in helping companies offer innovative benefit strategies for executives and employees.

In 1999, Tom decided to address a void in the marketplace. Employee benefits were offered to groups, but very often the groups did not know how to fully optimize those benefits; individuals had specialized needs, but some corporate benefit departments did not have the time to help employees address their individual needs. So, Tom formed Affinity Advantage to offer coordinated professional services to corporations and individuals.

Tom asks, "What good is earning a living if you can't give something back?" As a responsible and active member of his community, he is a past President of his local Rotary Club, where he managed the annual Career Day at the local high school. During past holidays, Tom participated as a Salvation Army bell-ringer.

A supporter of his town's Annual Clean Sweep, Tom is a former Chair Committee Member for the Alzheimer's Association's Annual Memory Walk, and has been recognized by the American Institute of CPAs as a volunteer who assisted families affected by the 9/11 tragedy. Tom also performs pro bono work for disadvantaged families that need financial counseling. Formerly, Tom was the Chair of the Personal Financial Planning Committee of the Mid-Hudson Chapter of CPA's.
